Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounting close.

• Oversee all critical accounting functions, including accrued expenses, internally-used software (ASC 350), sales commissions (ASC 340), and the periodic close process.

• Create new and improve existing accounting policies and procedures, as well as internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), including the drafting of desktop procedures for essential areas.

• Prepare, review, and deliver flux analysis and key metrics to the broader Finance team in a timely manner.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Technical Accounting, Procurement, and other teams to effectively align on accounting operating standards and practices.

• Partner with the Technical Accounting team to develop and document process flows and procedures for implementing new or relevant accounting standards.

• Assist with interim and year-end audits, along with tax requests.

• Supervise staff, providing development and coaching as appropriate. Communicate clearly and follow up promptly to ensure consistent execution of key processes by all team members.

• Engage in various assignments and ad hoc projects as needed.

• Lead AI automation initiatives aimed at reducing manual efforts and expediting the month-end close process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the SaaS/Tech industry is required.

• At least 2 years of people management experience is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with a Big 4 firm.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Advanced Excel skills are essential.

• Experience with NetSuite is preferred.

• Strong technical knowledge of internally-used software (ASC 350), deferred commission (ASC 340) in SaaS companies, and the ability to operationalize both.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and interpersonal communication skills.

• Capacity to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

• Must be available to work during regular business hours in the PST time zone.

• Proven track record of identifying, evaluating, and implementing AI-driven accounting tools or automation to enhance accounting workflows.
