Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of critical components of the monthly closing process, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

• Oversee accounting functions for essential areas such as revenue, accounts receivable, payroll, commissions, operating expenses, prepaids, and fixed assets.

• Examine contracts and business activities to pinpoint and address accounting implications.

• Lead the ongoing enhancement of accounting workflows in Rillet and other tools within our financial technology ecosystem.

• Develop processes and controls that enhance accuracy while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

• Leverage AI and automation to minimize manual tasks and enhance the efficiency and quality of the closing process.

• Collaborate with Strategic Finance and various teams across the organization to ensure accurate transaction recording and prompt resolution of issues.

• Assist with the annual audit, tax submissions, and other compliance obligations.

• Assume responsibility for new accounting initiatives as the company and our products evolve.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including time at a high-growth startup or SaaS organization.

• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience managing a monthly closing process.

• Familiarity with revenue recognition and other accounting challenges typical in subscription software companies.

• Proven ability to independently investigate issues, form a perspective, and drive problems to resolution.

• Strong critical thinking abilities and the capability to recognize when a process, transaction, or outcome appears illogical.

• Comfort in navigating an environment where processes may still require creation or enhancement.

• Experience utilizing AI tools in everyday tasks and a curiosity about their potential to enhance accounting operations.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
