Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of reviewing and approving monthly financing accounting entries, reconciliations, and associated documentation to ensure precision and completeness during each closing cycle.

• Develop scalable and automated financial processes and controls for the prime financing function, which includes creating standard operating procedures that minimize manual tasks and support SOX compliance.

• Guide your team through the monthly financial close, quarterly reporting, and annual audit processes, ensuring that deadlines are adhered to and deliverables are prepared for audits.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to offer accounting insights regarding SEC regulations and lending practices, transforming regulatory updates into actionable accounting guidance.

• Spearhead the design and execution of new controls and processes for platform and brokerage accounting functions, identifying deficiencies and recommending enhancements that align with business expansion.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA certification with over 9 years of progressive accounting experience, encompassing a mix of roles in Big 4 public accounting and within the fintech or financial services sectors.

• Direct experience in financing, lending, or prime brokerage accounting at a publicly traded organization, including knowledge of SEC reporting requirements.

• Demonstrated success in establishing accounting processes and internal controls from scratch, including the design of SOPs and the introduction of automation that shortens close timelines or minimizes error rates.

• Experience in managing or leading a team through monthly closing cycles and quarterly/annual reporting, with a proven ability to meet stringent regulatory deadlines.

• Proficient in NetSuite, FloQast, and Google Suite, with the capability to utilize these tools to enhance closing and reporting workflows.

• Employs generative AI in a responsible manner, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and drive measurable enhancements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
