This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Collaborate with the SVP and Accounting Management to ensure efficient and effective financial reporting.
• Supervise a team responsible for delivering client financial reports.
• Offer direct leadership and mentorship to the Community Accounting Team to guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Work together to achieve the strategic goals of the department while providing regular training and guidance to Community Accountants.
• Ensure the quality of financial statements by conducting monthly peer reviews and offering feedback to staff members.
• Address complex accounting transaction issues that have been escalated.
• Assist in the timely completion of annual attest work.
• Support CPA firms to ensure the prompt filing of association tax returns and maintain copies of all submitted returns.
• Manage a small portfolio of client financial statements.
• Attend monthly, quarterly, and annual Board and Finance Committee meetings.
• Conduct financial analysis and interpretation.
• Resolve and troubleshoot accounting issues.
• Over five years of experience in general ledger accounting.
• At least two years of managerial experience in accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Familiarity with multi-entity financial statements.
• Experience in the homeowners association industry is preferred.
• Exceptional communicator comfortable interacting with internal and external teams as well as executive management.
• Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve.
• Capability to train others on accounting applications, organizational processes, and procedures.
• Comprehensive understanding of accrual basis accounting.
• Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve accounting issues.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
