Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and oversee the entire month-end closing process across various operating entities.

• Ensure that all journal entries, reconciliations, and deliverables for the period-end are completed accurately and punctually.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing closing timelines and enhancing efficiency.

• Prepare and manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.

• Maintain clear supporting documentation and records that are ready for audits.

• Prepare and refresh weekly and monthly KPI dashboards.

• Provide management with prompt insights into financial and operational performance.

• Engage in ERP implementation and optimization projects.

• Assist with workflow testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and process documentation.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing accounting processes, controls, and system utilization.

• Aid in the onboarding and integration of newly acquired businesses.

• Support the setup of opening balance sheets and the mapping of charts of accounts.

• Transition acquired entities into standardized accounting processes and reporting frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.

• Strong ownership of month-end closing responsibilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles.

• Experience in preparing balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports.

• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar cloud ERP systems is preferred.

• Previous experience in ERP implementation is preferred.

• Experience in multi-entity accounting environments is preferred.

• Exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) integration activities is preferred.

• Public accounting experience is a plus.

• Experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition is an added advantage.
