Accounting Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting team, including assigning tasks and monitoring deadlines.

• Evaluate work produced by team members (journal entries, reconciliations, support schedules).

• Deliver continuous coaching and feedback to maintain quality and professional growth.

• Prepare and assess journal entries in line with established accounting practices.

• Review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and address outstanding items.

• Ensure transactions are accurately recorded and timely entered in the ERP system.

• Coordinate and carry out assigned closing activities according to the closing schedule.

• Ensure all deliverables are completed punctually and raise any risks or delays proactively.

• Assist with variance analysis and reporting prepared for management's review.

• Ensure adherence to specified accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation standards.

• Aid in the preparation and review of materials for external audits.

• Actively question current practices and set higher expectations for performance and outcomes.

• Identify operational inefficiencies and suggest enhancements to the Senior Accounting Manager.

• Support the implementation of approved procedural or system modifications.

• Serve as the primary contact for operational inquiries from AP, AR, and other departments.

• Refer complex accounting issues or judgment-based decisions to the Senior Accounting Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (mandatory)

• 4–6 years of accounting experience with significant exposure to US GAAP

• Practical experience applying US GAAP in daily accounting tasks (journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and closing activities)

• At least 1 year of experience supervising or leading junior accounting personnel

• Strong comprehension of essential US GAAP principles, including accrual accounting, revenue and expense recognition, and balance sheet accuracy

• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and proficient Excel skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform within established accounting policies and closing timelines

• Capability to identify issues and appropriately escalate matters involving accounting judgment

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions in a dynamic environment.
