Accounting Consultant II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and implement essential daily accounting and reporting functions.

• Prepare and assist with financial statements (GAAP and statutory), along with related schedules and disclosures.

• Conduct financial consolidations, ensuring accuracy and the proper elimination of intercompany transactions.

• Oversee and analyze general ledger activities, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly.

• Create journal entries, account analyses, and variance explanations to facilitate the monthly closing process.

• Perform and review account reconciliations, including those that involve complex accounting processes.

• Confirm system functionality and ensure that accounting rules and processes are effectively implemented.

• Analyze financial outcomes, identify trends and variances, and deliver actionable insights.

• Collaborate across various finance teams and business units.

• Contribute to and spearhead process improvement and transformation initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA certification or CPA-eligible (actively pursuing or have completed educational requirements).

• Experience in financial reporting and general ledger accounting.

• Strong comprehension of how financial statements are structured and interconnected.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and transaction flows.

• Capability to work independently while juggling multiple priorities.

• Preferred 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.

• Experience with consolidations in a multi-entity setting.
