This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete accounts payable cycle in Ramp, which includes making vendor onboarding decisions, reviewing bills, and managing approval routing and payment timing.
• Assess vendor documentation for thoroughness and compliance, addressing discrepancies directly with vendors.
• Ascertain correct account coding for complex or unclear transactions across various departments.
• Detect and analyze irregularities in vendor billing to determine if escalation is necessary.
• Examine corporate card transactions and expense reports for adherence to policy and authorize exceptions within set limits.
• Implement IRS reimbursement guidelines and the company's travel and expense policy, educate employees, and clarify ambiguous situations.
• Spot patterns of expense non-compliance and propose enhancements to policies or processes.
• Manage monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, identify root causes of discrepancies, and take corrective measures.
• Prepare journal entries, supporting schedules, and accruals for month-end closing activities.
• Maintain reconciliation documentation that is audit-ready and identify improvements in controls.
• Interpret accounting policies and assess when it is necessary to escalate issues to the Controller.
• Prepare designated areas for audits and ensure documentation is complete.
• Suggest improvements to accounting workflows with supporting justification.
• Collaborate with People Ops, Legal, and Finance on matters related to vendor and employee reimbursements.
• Report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager.
• Applicants must reside in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an Associate's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, showcasing independent judgment in accounts payable, reconciliations, or close processes.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and the ability to apply them to new or ambiguous scenarios.
• Experience in determining the appropriate actions in policy gray areas, with a proven track record of sound independent decision-making.
• Proficiency in Ramp.
• Solid working knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel.
