This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.
• Assist the Finance team by carrying out daily financial transactions.
• Ensure precise financial records for the Swiss association are maintained.
• Guarantee administrative compliance with applicable Swiss regulations.
• Handle payments, oversee invoices, and conduct basic bookkeeping duties.
• Administer payroll, verifying that all transactions and administrative processes adhere to financial protocols and local legal standards.
• Contribute to the creation of monthly and annual financial reports for senior management and the Governing Board.
• Keep the chart of accounts updated and ensure correct coding for financial transactions.
• Provide essential documentation to auditors and address any inquiries.
• Oversee the monthly payroll process for employees based in Switzerland.
• Ensure adherence to local tax regulations, financial rules, and organizational policies.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Entry-level to 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within a nonprofit or international organization.
• Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS or local GAAP).
• Understanding of donor-funded projects and compliance obligations.
• Willingness to learn and utilize various accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or other cloud-based applications).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Keen attention to detail and precision in financial record-keeping.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior communication skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across various functions.
• Proficient in English and French.
• Intermediate German is a bonus.
