Accountant – Sales Tax

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Take charge of sales tax filing responsibilities.

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Accurately prepare and submit sales and use tax returns in alignment with client tax schedules.

• Carry out state registrations and de-registrations.

• Reconcile payments made on behalf of clients.

• Actively engage with clients to address sales tax inquiries and issues.

• Collaborate with the designated accounting manager.

• Independently resolve issues using Excel and technological skills.

• Analyze and manipulate data pertinent to eCommerce accounting.

• Work remotely with colleagues throughout the organization.

• Develop expertise in eCommerce sales and use tax.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience.

• Strong technological proficiency and adaptability to new software.

• Ability and confidence to independently troubleshoot issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective correspondence with teams and clients.

• Eagerness to learn about eCommerce sales tax accounting.

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred.

• Experience with QuickBooks or familiarity with state and federal sales tax laws and regulations is advantageous.

• Familiarity with sales tax software such as Avalara or TaxJar is a significant plus.

• Must be available for full-time work at 40 hours per week.

• Required to work 5 hours during standard business hours every weekday.
