Accountant II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Execute various month-end close activities related to the general ledger.

• Create journal entries along with corresponding account reconciliations.

• Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with teams outside of accounting, such as procure-to-pay, treasury, payroll, sales compensation, order-to-cash, and supply chain.

• Take ownership of designated accounts, which include inventory, deferred commissions, marketable securities and investments, complex bank account arrangements, as well as accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies in the closing process.

• Advocate for, exemplify, and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the company expands globally and establishes new offices.

• Operate within Samsara’s Connected Operations Cloud, assisting physical-operation organizations in leveraging IoT data to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree, ideally in accounting.

• Over 2 years of relevant experience in accounting.

• Capability to manage a high volume of transactions in a dynamic environment.

• Familiarity with operational accounting processes, including accruals, account reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.

• Proficiency in collaboration and effective communication.

• Intermediate skills in Excel.

• Proven proficiency in English.

• Experience working under tight deadlines while ensuring adherence to company policies.

• CPA or equivalent certification, or a desire to pursue CPA or equivalent.

• Familiarity with NetSuite.

• Ability to implement scalable processes.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to follow-through.
