📋 Description

• Aids in ensuring precise and prompt monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.

• Supports the maintenance of financial records in line with accepted global policies and procedures, as well as compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (US GAAP) and local GAAP where applicable.

• Assists in meeting Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Controls objectives by ensuring compliance with process control narratives and maintaining necessary process documentation.

• Notifies management of any inconsistencies between documented processes and current practices to facilitate updates to written procedures.

• Reviews, maintains, and composes detailed journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for the general ledger accounts, along with other controls necessary for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

• Prepares monthly reconciliations of intercompany accounts and the required journal entries.

• Ensures that invoices are dispatched to intercompany partners.

• Conducts thorough analysis of expenses to ensure accurate coding, adequate accruals, and resolution of accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

• Fosters positive relationships with General Ledger (GL) team members, international accounting staff, and other departments.

• Participates in cross-functional teams as necessary.

• Integrates new accounting requirements into company policies and engages in the implementation efforts for new accounting standards.

• Identifies best practices, investigates the root causes of fundamental issues, and proposes solutions.

• Documents and analyzes existing accounting procedures.

• Recognizes opportunities to streamline and enhance the accounting process and suggests more efficient procedures.

• Acquires and maintains a comprehensive understanding of the general ledger structure and aids in managing Oracle systems for the general ledger and sub-ledgers.

• Leads special projects aimed at technological enhancement or resolving issues raised by other departments.

• Provides training for new and existing staff as required.

• Ensures a timely year-end audit by supporting all aspects of audit deliverables and inquiries.

• Engages in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements as applicable and requested.

• Performs additional work-related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/BA degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Progressive accounting experience, preferably within the Contract Research Organization (CRO) or pharmaceutical industry.

• Certified Public Accountant designation or equivalent professional accountancy body membership is preferred.

• Experience in an internationally oriented organization, with knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

• Oracle Financial experience is preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while organizing and prioritizing them to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

• Capable of working cooperatively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to optimize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.

• Possesses diplomatic skills for issue resolution.

• Demonstrates strong work ethics, a professional demeanor, and reliability.

• Exhibits strong problem-solving, research, resolution skills, and data analysis.

• Ability to operate independently with minimal daily guidance from a manager to achieve objectives.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and voicemail.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
