Accountant – Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Prepare and uphold precise financial statements in accordance with Japanese accounting standards and internal policies.

• Regularly reconcile exchange accounts, bank accounts, cryptocurrency wallets, and the general ledger to guarantee accurate financial reporting.

• Oversee the accounting and reporting of cryptocurrency transactions, including purchases, sales, trades, and wallets, ensuring appropriate handling of crypto assets in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

• Establish and sustain internal controls to protect assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Assist with both internal and external audits.

• Analyze financial performance and offer insights into cost-saving opportunities and revenue optimization for exchange operations.

• Remain informed on local and global regulatory requirements for cryptocurrencies and ensure the exchange’s adherence to Japanese financial regulations, including those outlined by the Financial Services Agency (FSA).

• Manage all tax-related responsibilities, including the preparation and filing of tax returns (corporate tax, consumption tax, and other applicable taxes) in accordance with Japanese tax laws.

• Collaborate closely with the global finance team and other departments (legal, operations, compliance) to ensure seamless operations and reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.

• 4–6 years of pertinent experience in Finance & Accounting.

• Strong communication abilities in both English and Japanese, both verbal and written.

• Solid technical accounting knowledge and practical experience in a fast-paced setting.

• Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
