Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Senegal, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the accounting cycle for designated technical accounting sectors, including investments, debt, leases, equity, inter-company transactions, and revenue recognition.

• Investigate and apply GAAP along with local accounting regulations to intricate, non-standard transactions.

• Compose accounting policies and prepare technical memoranda for auditors.

• Prepare, review, and guarantee the accuracy and punctuality of annual external financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Partner with local finance teams to document transactions and implement effective financial processes and internal controls.

• Execute intricate account reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies or variances.

• Assist in audit and tax filing procedures by supplying documentation and coordinating with auditors and the tax team.

• Stay informed about industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory updates, applying best practices to enhance financial processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 years of accounting experience.

• Experience in the Financial Services sector, particularly in a multi-currency setting, is advantageous.

• Proven experience in leading an audit.

• Strong understanding of the financial closing process.

• CPA or equivalent designation, or actively pursuing such a designation.

• Eagerness to learn new reporting tools, tackle unique challenges, and improve processes.

• Capability to navigate uncertainty and devise innovative solutions to problems.

• Goal-oriented leadership skills, with the ability to thrive on a fast-paced small team as both an individual contributor and manager.
