
Account Manager – Specialty Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Drive the growth of assigned accounts by prospecting, developing, and closing new business while enhancing relationships with current accounts [Manage a portfolio of strategic accounts, crafting and implementing account plans to strengthen ties with existing clients].
• Act as the primary relationship manager for account management involving healthcare providers, including physicians, genetic counselors, and their staff.
• Proactively identify potential risks to customer satisfaction, adoption, or retention and coordinate cross-functional action plans to mitigate these risks.
• Analyze account usage trends and customer requirements to uncover opportunities for increased testing adoption and revenue growth.
• Provide customized, consultative sales presentations to articulate the value of GeneDx’s solutions and services.
• Organize and conduct both in-person and virtual client meetings.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure effective onboarding, service delivery, and prompt resolution of customer issues.
• Facilitate business reviews with key stakeholders to assess account performance, identify growth opportunities, and enhance strategic partnerships.
• Spearhead educational initiatives within the territory, which includes organizing in-office appointments, regional conferences, physician lunches and dinners, and other engagement activities.
• Stay updated on developments in clinical genomics, product offerings, and the competitive landscape to position GeneDx favorably.
• Maintain a strong field presence, with an expectation of 4.5 days per week spent in the field with clients.
• Achieve or surpass assigned sales targets, KPIs, and activity metrics.
• Record customer opportunities, interactions, and updates in CRM and other business systems as required, while maintaining a target clinician development pipeline.
• Actively embody and promote GeneDx cultural principles: be adaptable to change; communicate directly and empathetically; honor commitments; be bold in vision and courageous in execution; operate with a sense of urgency.
• Exhibit accountability and a robust work ethic, maintaining a team-first attitude.
• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• 3+ years of experience in healthcare sales or 2+ years as a genetic counselor.
• 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles such as account management, client success, customer support, or sales.
• Proven capability to address complex, cross-functional customer challenges.
• Strong skills in relationship development and stakeholder management.
• Excellent listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is preferred.
• Strong technical proficiency and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize territory tasks.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
