Account Manager – IOLs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Drive new business sales and profitability within a designated territory.

• Adhere to annual sales strategies while preparing monthly goals, forecasts, orders, and revenue projections.

• Achieve or surpass annual revenue and profit targets.

• Track and report on sales activities, market trends, and competitive landscape.

• Organize tailored sales demonstrations for customers in the surgical ophthalmology sector.

• Provide training to surgeons, hospital personnel, and clinic staff regarding product applications and maintenance.

• Inform and follow up with surgeons and staff on the operation, use, and applications of products.

• Represent and sell intraocular lenses alongside surgical consumables.

• Recommend and carry out IOL calculations for physicians, clinics, and clinical staff.

• Oversee account consignment inventory management.

• Produce monthly and quarterly sales reports for management and clients.

• Build and sustain customer and account relationships.

• Create and execute regional marketing strategies.

• Assist in market introductions and new product rollouts.

• Maintain, analyze, and utilize territory records and data, including SOM and CRM systems.

• Relay planned monthly sales activities and expectations to management.

• Develop collaborative opportunities with ZEISS teams, Carl Zeiss field service, and corporate partners.

• Complete required paperwork and requested information accurately and in a timely manner.

• Support local sales administration with customer orders and deliveries.

• Review pending service jobs with the Service team and provide necessary assistance.

• Adapt to management strategies, participate in training, and remain updated on technological advancements.

• Adhere to Company and ISO 9001 processes and procedures.

• Travel may be required up to 70%, which includes potential overnight stays and occasional weekend work.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or equivalent qualification.

• At least 2–5 years of experience in Strategic Account Management.

• A minimum of 2 years of preferred experience in Surgical/OR sales.

• Experience interacting with senior-level executives and managing client relationships.

• Capability to influence decision-making.

• Outstanding negotiation and diplomacy abilities.

• Proficiency in developing and delivering presentations for key/strategic accounts.

• Experience in contract negotiation and development.

• Resourceful and creative, with the ability to prioritize and proactively suggest solutions.

• Strong organizational and communication capabilities.

• Knowledge of ophthalmic products, especially IOLs, and their clinical applications is advantageous.

• Ability to work effectively with customers in high-pressure surgical settings.

• Excellent verbal, written, consultative, teaching, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Understanding of cross-cultural considerations.

• Ability to collaborate with internal corporate partners across various departments including sales, marketing, regulatory, legal, finance, production, and service.

• Proven record of sustained sales success, consistently performing within the top 20% of sales rankings.

• Team-oriented, coachable, self-driven, and adept at negotiating and closing deals.

• Capability to navigate challenging situations and effectively engage with personnel at all levels.

• Proficient in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

• Highly organized and able to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Willingness to travel to the USA and Germany for training purposes.

• Must hold a valid motor vehicle license.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.

• Capacity to lift, carry, push, pull, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Flexibility to work past 5:00 pm without prior notice.
