
Account Manager – Energy Efficiency, Commercial and Industrial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Support various utility-sponsored initiatives aimed at promoting energy efficiency within the commercial and industrial sectors.
• Accountable for identifying and recruiting customers to participate in energy efficiency programs.
• Create a data-driven outreach plan to attract and retain both new and existing customers.
• Identify, prospect, and qualify potential energy efficiency upgrades for clients.
• Enhance customer awareness regarding the financial advantages of implementing energy conservation measures.
• Foster and develop new business opportunities by building long-term relationships with professional organizations and trade allies.
• Stay informed about state and federal funding programs.
• Monitor state/local and national energy policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Finance, or a related field with at least 2 years of industry experience, or a High School Diploma with over 6 years of industry experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in outside sales or business development.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
• Demonstrated success in outside sales or business development roles.
• Strong skills in follow-up and closing deals.
• Background in energy efficiency with knowledge of building mechanical systems or commercial lighting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Dynamics, Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Experience in economic analysis and demand-side management (DSM) program planning.
• Familiarity with utility operations and understanding of DSM program implementation.
• Experience with ENERGY STAR, LEED, or similar initiatives.
