This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Identify, cultivate, and secure new business opportunities for Howmet’s industrial fastening products and joining solutions.
• Create and implement strategic new business development plans targeting specific industries, customers, applications, and geographic markets.
• Reach out to potential customers through cold calling, networking, industry research, trade shows, referrals, and various other activities.
• Spot opportunities to enhance product performance, manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost, or reliability through fastening and joining solutions.
• Engage in technical discussions with customer engineering, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams.
• Introduce customers to fastening technologies, products, tooling, and value-added solutions.
• Develop application-specific proposals and coordinate evaluations, samples, testing, prototypes, and trials.
• Guide opportunities from concept through customer approval, commercial award, and production launch.
• Build and sustain a sales pipeline while accurately forecasting opportunities.
• Prepare quotations, business cases, presentations, and technical proposals in collaboration with internal teams.
• Analyze competitive products, technologies, pricing, and market trends.
• Identify opportunities for competitive replacements and customer-spend expansion.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development for new and customized solutions.
• Coordinate customer trials, installation evaluations, and technical problem-solving.
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, customer events, and technical seminars.
• Maintain customer relationships and ensure accurate CRM record-keeping.
• Negotiate commercial terms and assist in transitioning awarded business into production.
• Meet or exceed revenue, margin, pipeline, and customer acquisition goals.
• A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Mechanical, Structural, or Materials Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in technical sales, industrial sales, engineering, manufacturing, or business development.
• Proven success in new business development and consultative selling.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to comprehend technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing processes, and product applications.
• Capability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical audiences.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales forecasting tools.
• Experience with industrial fasteners, fastening systems, joining technologies, tooling, or similar components.
• Background in selling to OEMs, Tier suppliers, industrial manufacturers, or engineering organizations.
• Familiarity with engineering specifications and customer qualification processes.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, or automated fastening.
• Established relationships within targeted industrial markets.
• Experience managing long-cycle technical sales opportunities.
• The successful candidate must reside in Texas.
