This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Formulate and implement a strategic plan for new business development that targets specific industries, clients, applications, and geographic regions.
• Discover and engage potential customers through cold calling, networking, industry research, trade shows, referrals, and other business development efforts.
• Recognize opportunities where fastening and joining solutions can enhance product performance, manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost, or reliability.
• Conduct technical discussions with customer engineering, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams to comprehend application needs and create suitable solutions.
• Present Howmet's fastening technologies, products, tooling, and value-added solutions to customers.
• Create application-specific proposals and coordinate technical evaluations, samples, testing, prototypes, and product trials.
• Drive new product and application opportunities from initial concept to customer approval, commercial award, and production launch.
• Establish and maintain a strong sales pipeline while providing accurate forecasts for new business opportunities.
• Prepare quotes, business cases, presentations, and technical proposals in partnership with internal teams.
• Gain an understanding of competitive products, technologies, pricing strategies, and market trends.
• Find opportunities to replace competing fastening products and increase customer spending.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on new product innovations and tailored fastening solutions.
• Organize customer trials, installation assessments, and technical troubleshooting activities.
• Engage in trade shows, conferences, customer events, and technical seminars.
• Sustain customer engagement and cultivate relationships beyond the initial contact.
• Negotiate commercial terms and assist in the transition of awarded business into production.
• Keep precise records of customer interactions, opportunities, and activities in the CRM system.
• Achieve or surpass new business revenue, margin, pipeline, and customer acquisition targets.
• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory, preferably in Mechanical, Structural, or Materials Engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales, industrial sales, engineering, manufacturing, or business development.
• Proven success in new business development and consultative selling.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing processes, and product applications.
• Capable of effectively communicating technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales forecasting tools.
• Experience with industrial fasteners, fastening systems, joining technologies, tooling, or related components is preferred.
• Familiarity with selling to OEMs, Tier suppliers, industrial manufacturers, or engineering organizations is preferred.
• Experience in working with engineering specifications and customer qualification processes is preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, or automated fastening is preferred.
• Existing connections within targeted industrial markets are preferred.
• Experience in managing long-cycle technical sales opportunities is preferred.
