This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee and expand a designated portfolio of government accounts while identifying new business opportunities within the sector.

• Establish and nurture in-depth account knowledge, encompassing key decision-makers, procurement contacts, travel managers, influencers, contract specifications, sourcing habits, travel trends, business potential, competitive landscape, and upcoming actions.

• Formulate and implement account strategies that facilitate revenue growth across government transient, group, extended stay, training, relocation, project-based, and meeting sectors.

• Identify and evaluate new federal, state, military, defense, government contractor, public sector, and similar accounts that present opportunities for Hyatt hotels.

• Inform government buyers about Hyatt brands, hotel features, location suitability, service standards, security considerations, and solutions tailored to their business requirements.

• Assist in Hyatt's inclusion in pertinent government sourcing opportunities, RFPs, bids, lodging programs, meetings, training sessions, and project-based travel needs.

• Collaborate with hotel sales teams, operators, revenue management, legal/compliance, and commercial stakeholders to align customer requirements with hotel priorities and regulatory obligations.

• Facilitate customer negotiations, hotel communications, rate discussions, and opportunity follow-up with promptness, precision, discretion, and a keen attention to detail.

• Remain informed about government travel trends, per diem factors, procurement cycles, agency priorities, market conditions, forecasts, and competitive insights.

• Utilize CRM, sourcing platforms, analytics, and industry resources to record activities, prioritize opportunities, and assess account performance.

• Advocate for Hyatt initiatives and priorities with government clients as appropriate, including new hotel openings, focus hotels, Essentials brands, and special programs.

• Amplify the voice of the government customer within Hyatt and engage in cross-functional projects that support National Sales objectives.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in hotel sales, hospitality sales, account management, government sales, public sector sales, or a related commercial field.

• Proven experience in working with government, public sector, military, defense, government contractor, association, or similar accounts.

• Strong understanding of government market dynamics, including procurement factors, RFP procedures, per diem sensitivities, travel habits, compliance expectations, buyer needs, and service requirements.

• Solid sales acumen and business development experience across transient, group, extended stay, training, relocation, project-based, or meeting sectors.

• Demonstrated capability to manage a portfolio of accounts while simultaneously pursuing new business opportunities.

• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship-building, and follow-up abilities.

• Detail-oriented organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple clients, priorities, opportunities, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with CRM and/or database management applications.

• Familiarity with customer sourcing, RFP, booking, procurement, or travel management tools used in government, public sector, or hotel sales contexts.

• Experience with industry data tools such as Knowland Group, Amadeus Hotelligence Suite, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or comparable platforms.
