Account Director – Public Relations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as the main client contact and daily lead for account teams, establishing the direction for the account and pinpointing PR priorities that align with our clients' business goals.

• Oversee the creation of strategic and focused media plans and campaigns from conception to implementation.

• Generate media results through proactive outreach and innovative story development.

• Create and/or refine written content.

• Lead and present client reports, plans, and other deliverables.

• Assist in agency development initiatives, including new business proposals, company training, team events, and recruitment.

• Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, conducting annual performance evaluations.

• Manage the SBS Fellowship program (internship).

• Offer recommendations on team staffing to ensure accounts are adequately covered and possess complementary skills.

• Collaborate with Senior Directors and VPs to facilitate discussions on project scopes and budget considerations with clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, communications, journalism, or a related field.

• A minimum of 6 years of PR experience in-house or at an agency.

• Proven track record of account growth and building strong client relationships.

• Demonstrated capability to achieve significant media results.

• Strong skills in presentation and verbal communication.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards.

• A creative approach to problem-solving.

• Exceptional writing skills (samples will be requested).

• Experience or readiness to oversee junior staff members.

• A self-motivated work ethic and a player-coach management style.
