This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Carry out benefit verification and complete prior authorizations with third-party providers.
• Execute reimbursement tasks, enroll patients in assistance and copay programs.
• Organize refill calls and document adherence activities.
• Manage the dispensing process for specialty medications, high-cost prescriptions, and infusion medications.
• Conduct patient onboarding, benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals.
• Facilitate the fulfillment of prescriptions between healthcare providers and pharmacies.
• Deliver services for ambulatory pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, and outpatient infusion centers.
• Verify both pharmacy and medical coverage.
• Collect insurance and patient information from patients and providers.
• Communicate the status of requests with clinic staff, pharmacies/infusion centers, and patients.
• Coordinate, track, and confirm the delivery of prescriptions.
• Utilize electronic medical records and other systems to retrieve information, communicate updates, and document outcomes.
• Research prior authorization processes and appeals for payers.
• Employ workflow management software to document activities.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Assist patients in enrolling in manufacturer- and foundation-sponsored assistance programs.
• Adjust to changes in payer, pharmacy, and patient assistance program processes.
• Maintain relationships with clinic staff, pharmacies, and hospital contacts.
• Provide integrated services aimed at increasing prescription capture, improving patient outcomes, and reducing readmissions.
• Relay patient and provider feedback to management for process enhancement and continuity of care.
• Offer coverage for clients and patients during onsite resource absences.
• Undertake additional related responsibilities as assigned.
• At least two (2) years of experience in areas such as Benefit Verification, Prior Authorization, Medical Billing, Medical Office Administration, Social Work, Medical Records, Patient Financial Services, Pharmacy, Nursing, or related fields.
• Prior authorization experience is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Healthcare certification is preferred but not mandatory, such as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Capacity to work swiftly and accurately under time constraints and high volume.
• Proactive and tenacious in seeking solutions with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong interpersonal capabilities.
• Ability to resolve issues efficiently and creatively.
• Knowledge of insurance/claims processing, pharmaceutical products, services, software, and drug interactions.
• Good analytical skills.
• Capability to handle stressful situations.
• Sedentary physical activity involving reaching, shifting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, and hearing.
• Visual acuity for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and adjusting focus.
• Ability to stand, walk, or be otherwise mobile.
