This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Project Management
• Collaborate with our product strategist and learning experience design teams to create new project plans while considering resource and budget constraints.
• Draft and revise project documents, including budgets, project charters, project plans, communication plans, and resource reports.
• Lead, manage, and inspire our development teams as they work to create or enhance our online qualifications or courses.
• Develop an understanding of the priorities, limitations, and perspectives of various stakeholders to facilitate decision-making while weighing trade-offs and competing priorities.
• Monitor project timelines and proactively escalate any delays or risks.
• Conduct Daily Stand-Up (DSU) and weekly status meetings with project teams to evaluate and track project progress.
• Employ creative problem-solving, scenario planning, and change management to adjust project plans in response to unforeseen challenges.
• Relationship Management
• Manage deliverables and timelines with the qualification or course development teams to ensure alignment with project schedules.
• Potentially oversee line-management functions within the Learning Innovation & Development team.
• Process Improvement and Collaboration
• Contribute to the overall success and growth of the Milpark Project Management team through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Work with colleagues across the organization to refine and enhance processes.
• Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure effective execution of project and resource planning.
• Process, Systems and Administrative Efficiency
• Drive improvements in departmental processes to alleviate administrative burdens on academic staff.
• Partner with internal teams such as HR, Finance, IT, and Academic Operations to ensure alignment and integration.
• Oversee departmental utilization of systems and tools (e.g., project tracking software, document repositories).
• Ensure that all necessary documentation and project outputs are filed, tracked, and easily accessible.
• Oversee invoicing, payment tracking, and compliance with financial processes for independent contractors.
• Assist with reporting, data collection, and internal presentations or reviews.
• An undergraduate degree with 3+ years of work experience, preferably in an Academic Project Management role.
• An understanding and perspective on the role of education in transforming South Africa.
• Experience working and collaborating in a remote work environment.
• Experience managing and/or working with budgets.
• Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and allocate workload to align with project plans.
• An action-oriented mindset with strong cross-team collaboration skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, and advanced presentation abilities.
