ABA Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with ABA and behavioral health providers along with their billing teams to gather accurate patient information and convey authorization decisions.

• Engage with insurers to confirm patient eligibility and benefits, and efficiently finalize prior authorizations through insurance portals or direct calls to insurers. Ensure timely approval of authorizations by following up with insurers and supplying additional information as needed.

• Manage multiple prior authorizations concurrently and develop processes to ensure exceptional performance.

• Gain an understanding of ABA and other behavioral health-specific workflows, including the creation of treatment plans and re-authorizations.

• Become a subject matter expert in behavioral health prior authorization workflows for major insurers.

• Collaborate with Silna's Product and Engineering teams to share insights about the prior authorization process to facilitate automation of certain aspects.

• Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

• Be prepared to work 40 hours per week.

⛳️ Requirements

• The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance policies and ABA billing procedures.

• 2+ years of experience in completing prior authorizations for ABA (preferred) or other behavioral health services. A solid understanding of benefits including deductibles, co-insurance, out-of-pocket expenses, and exclusions.

• Familiarity with payor portals and experience in contacting payors.

• Strong work ethic: ability to operate with urgency, work independently, remain highly organized, detail-oriented, and effectively manage multiple tasks.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with provider software, including Electronic Medical Record Systems (EMR/EHR) like CentralReach and Rethink.
