
ABA Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Submit, track, and oversee initial, concurrent, and reauthorization requests for ABA therapy services.
• Monitor the status of authorizations and liaise with insurance providers to guarantee prompt approvals and prevent disruptions in care.
• Track the utilization and expiration dates of authorizations, ensuring renewal requests are submitted within the required timeframes.
• Communicate authorization approvals, denials, modifications, and requests for additional information to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with BCBAs and clinical teams to gather treatment plans, assessments, progress reports, and necessary documentation for authorization submissions.
• Verify payer authorization requirements and stay informed about commercial insurance, Medicaid, and managed care guidelines.
• Assist with issues related to authorizations, including denials and appeals.
• Maintain precise authorization records and documentation within CentralReach and other company systems.
• Ensure adherence to payer requirements, HIPAA regulations, and company policies.
• Support authorization reporting, audits, workflow improvements, and other administrative functions as required.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare authorizations, insurance verification, utilization management, or a similar healthcare administrative position.
• Strong preference for experience with ABA therapy authorizations.
• Knowledge of insurance authorization processes, commercial payers, Medicaid, and managed care plans.
• Proficiency with CentralReach, particularly the Authorizations Module.
• Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, including Google Sheets, Docs, Gmail, and Drive.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Preference for experience in behavioral health, ABA, or pediatric healthcare.
• Familiarity with authorization appeals and denial management is preferred.
• Experience working with various insurance payers across multiple states is preferred.
