3D Modeling Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create precise and visually coherent 3D models for mechanical, electrical, and building systems equipment (e.g., air handlers, chillers, pumps, VAVs)

• Adhere to established asset templates to maintain consistency in layout, structure, and appearance

• Implement appropriate geometry, materials, and naming conventions to facilitate BIM and visualization integration

• Assist in the creation and upkeep of a standardized 3D asset library

• Arrange files, folders, and metadata for streamlined access and reuse

• Engage in quality assurance checks to confirm that all assets fulfill visual and technical standards

• Collaborate with senior modelers and engineers to comprehend equipment layouts and design specifications

• Modify models based on input from project teams

• Aid in the integration of models into broader building and system environments

• Ensure that all deliverables adhere to internal standards regarding scale, detail level, and visual quality

• Maintain tidy, lightweight models optimized for BIM performance and rendering

• Comply with established workflows, templates, and modeling best practices

⛳️ Requirements

• Certificate, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in 3D Modeling, Drafting, Industrial Design, Mechanical Design, or a related discipline

• Relevant practical experience may be taken into account

• 0–2 years of experience in 3D modeling, CAD drafting, or related fields

• Internship or academic project experience is acceptable

• Familiarity with mechanical or building systems is advantageous

• Proficient with 3D modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, 3ds Max, Blender, SketchUp, or similar)

• Basic knowledge of materials, textures, and lighting for visualization purposes

• Understanding of file organization, model hierarchy, and naming conventions

• Eagerness to learn BIM coordination principles and model optimization methods

• Experience with mechanical equipment or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems is preferred but not mandatory.
