10-11th Grade ELA Associate Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Associate Instructors will become part of SEO’s dedicated community of educators to deliver a challenging college preparatory curriculum for enthusiastic and determined high school students.

• Through our unique curriculum and a focus on student-centered teaching methods, Associate Instructors play a crucial role in guiding our Scholars towards successful college admissions and future opportunities.

• Associate Instructors enhance understanding and skill development by acting as coaches and facilitators of learning.

• Associate Instructors collaborate with Instructors to conduct classroom instruction, deliver mini lessons, organize small group and individualized sessions, and offer additional support to Scholars.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant content area.

• Teaching certification, experience in K-12 classrooms, or teaching experience at the college or university level.

• Access to a dependable personal laptop. Seasonal instructors must possess their own device that meets essential technology specifications for all instructional and administrative responsibilities.

• Experience working with high school students.

• Proficient in navigating technological learning platforms.

• Strong expertise in advanced high school-level English and Humanities subjects.

• A willingness to engage in discussions that analyze the historical and ongoing causes of societal issues and challenges.

• Familiarity with and practice of student-centered pedagogy.

• Knowledge and experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

• Certifications, professional development course completions, and/or higher education in Instructional Technologies.
