Zero Trust Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, secure, and manage enterprise Windows endpoints that support AI-driven desktop functionalities within highly regulated, government, and Zero Trust settings.

• Utilize Windows desktop engineering, endpoint management, security compliance, application deployment, performance enhancement, and device health monitoring.

• Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, cloud, identity, infrastructure, and application teams to guarantee that endpoints are secure, compliant, efficient, and prepared for AI-driven applications and workloads.

• Evaluate the relevance of prioritized enterprise Zero Trust Use Cases for designated FISMA-reportable systems.

• Create system-specific Engineering and Implementation Plans using reusable frameworks and documented exceptions.

• Develop implementation timelines, testing plans, deployment strategies, pilot approaches, rollback strategies, and operational readiness criteria.

• Assist with technical implementation, architecture validation, regression testing, pilot execution, and confirmation of intended Zero Trust results.

• Record implementation progress, outstanding dependencies, architectural deviations, outcomes, and lessons learned.

• Facilitate the transition of completed implementations into sustainable operations, governance, and RMF processes without taking on Government production authority.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of five years of experience in systems, security, cloud, network, identity, or application engineering.

• Practical experience in establishing enterprise security features in complex environments.

• Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures, NIST SP 800-207, and Federal security standards.

• Excellent troubleshooting, testing, technical documentation, and inter-team coordination abilities.

• Experience working with VA or other large Federal system environments.

• Experience with cloud, hybrid, legacy, and mission-critical systems.

• Experience in supporting RMF or Assessment and Authorization transition processes.

• Preferred certification: Security+

• Preferred certification: CISSP

• Preferred certification: CCSP

• Preferred certification: Azure Security Engineer

• Preferred certification: AWS Security Specialty
