This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.
• Enhance database and platform performance across cloud data warehouses and lakes.
• Oversee system health and manage incidents, events, and operational reporting.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in queries, pipelines, and resource utilization.
• Analyze and optimize SQL, ETL/ELT, data models, ingestion patterns, and workloads for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish and uphold SLAs, baselines, dashboards, and automated monitoring with alerting systems.
• Plan for capacity, analyze workloads, and assist in scaling and cost-optimization decisions.
• Collaborate with platform engineers, DBAs, architects, application teams, data governance teams, and data quality teams.
• Maintain access controls, user roles, and identity integrations, including SSO, MFA, and JENIE-based least-privilege enforcement.
• Provide disaster recovery, high availability, fault tolerance, automated failover, and business continuity capabilities.
• Integrate DevSecOps tools and processes with enterprise systems.
• Manage centralized secrets with automated rotation, access logging, and policy enforcement.
• Embed SAST, DAST, SCA, and CSPM tools into CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement continuous 24/7 monitoring for security, performance, and compliance with real-time dashboards.
• Ensure automated SBOM generation and management for deployed artifacts.
• Offer diagnostics, metrics gathering, performance tuning, and canary-release support.
• Conduct automated full-stack health checks.
• Deliver monthly reports on incidents, stability, performance, configurations, ticket volume, and resolution times.
• Contribute to platform performance standards, engineering guidelines, and optimization best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in IT system engineering, development, and programming, with a focus on diagnosing, optimizing, and enhancing system and data-pipeline performance.
• Profound expertise in AWS services covering compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and logging.
• Proficient in Terraform, CloudFormation, and Azure Bicep.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic.
• Strong background in incident response and change management.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, and ArgoCD.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• Advanced knowledge of DevSecOps and GitOps practices.
• Hands-on experience in building, testing, and maintaining containerized applications.
• Expertise in version control and enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with FinOps, cost modeling, forecasting, and cloud cost optimization.
• Understanding of FedRAMP, NIST, and JISF Rev 5 standards.
• Skilled in log/metric analysis and cloud performance tuning.
• Strong SQL and database performance-tuning capabilities, including ELT/ETL pipeline optimization, SQL refactoring, join tuning, concurrency improvement, and execution-plan tuning.
• Experience with query optimization, indexing, partitioning, clustering, and execution-plan analysis.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and distributed data-processing environments.
• Exceptional performance-monitoring and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be able to pass a background check to qualify for a position of Public Trust.
• Must be a US Person: Green Card Holder, US Permanent Resident Alien, Refugee, Asylee, or US Citizen.
• Preferred experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Preferred experience in optimizing large-scale analytical workloads.
• Preferred certifications include CDMP, Snowflake SnowPro Advanced, Databricks Certified Data Professional, AWS certifications, Docker Certified Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, DevSecOps, ITIL, AWS SysOps, or Google Cloud DevOps Engineer.
