YouTube Strategist, Scriptwriter – Business Niche

📋 Description

• In this role, you will conceptualize and write the scripts for videos that Richard presents on camera, starting with a commitment of four scripts weekly across two channels for an established audience.

• This position requires creativity supported by thorough research. You won’t merely fill in briefs; instead, you'll generate ideas, advocate for them, and write the content.

• First and foremost, you will be responsible for producing at least four scripts weekly for a channel that has already demonstrated success.

• With over 70k subscribers focused on AI and business, the channel is backed by a legitimate company where videos contribute to revenue rather than relying on minimal ad income. There is a consistent filming schedule, a dedicated editing team, a specialized thumbnail designer, and a structured ideation and scripting system that has propelled this channel from its inception to its current standing.

• This means every script you create will be produced and released. You will receive feedback within 72 hours of posting, allowing you to learn from your work over 100 times a year.

• Many writers only get about 30 opportunities a year, often on channels with limited viewership. If you aim to excel, accumulating experience on a channel with a solid distribution network is crucial.

• The role comprises approximately 50% ideation, 30% scripting, and 20% quality control.

• **Ideation.** You will develop numerous concepts to identify a select few that stand out: exploring angles, titles, and formats. Rigorous filtering will be applied. We have a proven process that we will teach you, but the instinct to understand why a video resonates, detect when a format is becoming stale, and identify unique ideas from other channels is invaluable.

• **Scripting.** You will produce four scripts each week—three for our main business channel and one for our AI-avatar channel. Our approach is systematic rather than based on intuition. We analyze what already succeeds, extract the psychological framework driving engagement, and adapt it for our own audience and offerings. This method has been honed through numerous videos, and you will learn and implement it.

• **Quality Control.** You will review the first two edits of each video. You’ll assess if the hook is effective, if the pacing is consistent, and if the retention structure remains intact. Your feedback will be timestamped notes for the editors. The final review will be conducted by the Head of YouTube. This aspect of the job is straightforward, as the scriptwriter is best positioned to recognize when the edit diverges from the original intent. Initially focused on long-form content; short-form quality control will likely be integrated as production scales.

• You will collaborate closely with the Head of YouTube, the editing team, and the thumbnail designer, participating in a weekly one-on-one to refine your insights.

• Your performance will be evaluated based on median views per video, the number of standout pieces we produce each quarter, and audience retention metrics. Your compensation is linked to these same metrics, ensuring that we are aligned in our objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have a track record of writing successful long-form YouTube scripts and can articulate the reasons for their success. Please provide links and performance metrics.

• You can analyze a video from any channel and articulate its elements: what the hook accomplishes, where the narrative threads are, and why viewers remained engaged.

• You consume YouTube content with an analytical mindset. You have insights on packaging, notice when a channel shifts its format, and can hypothesize on the reasons behind these changes.

• A genuine passion for writing is essential, including crafting hooks, structuring narratives, and focusing on sentence-level detail. This is the work you would choose to do regardless.

• You can maintain a high output without sacrificing quality and you accept editorial feedback constructively.

• Your English writing skills are at a native or near-native level. This position entails copywriting for a US audience, requiring a seamless voice.

• You must be available to overlap at least four hours daily with US Eastern business hours, no matter your location.

• **Bonus:**

• Experience with scriptwriting for AI-avatar or faceless channels.

• A background in direct response, including VSLs, emails, advertisements, and webinars.

• Sufficient editing knowledge to ensure your quality control notes effectively communicate with the editing team.

• Familiarity with tools for identifying outliers, such as 1of10 or VidIQ.

• Compensation ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 USD per month as a full-time contractor, structured as a monthly base salary plus a performance component linked to the success of your videos. The specifics will be discussed during the interview.

• The salary range is negotiable and contingent upon your contributions. The upper end of the scale is attainable and reflects where strong performers typically land, rather than a figure arbitrarily assigned to the position.
