This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Create captivating and high-impact thumbnails for YouTube documentaries and video essays.

• Generate imaginative visual concepts that embody the essence of each narrative while aligning with the channel’s visual style.

• Choose and enhance images, composite various elements, and effectively apply typography to produce striking, clear, and attention-grabbing visuals.

• Design and incorporate 3D elements, objects, or environments into thumbnails to enrich visual depth and enhance storytelling effectiveness.

• Uphold a consistent, high-quality design standard that reflects the ethos and credibility of fern and Simplicissimus.

• Efficiently manage feedback loops and meet tight deadlines.

• Keep abreast of YouTube and media design trends to ensure our channels remain visually cutting-edge.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in designing YouTube thumbnails or visual assets for digital platforms.

• Exceptional understanding of visual storytelling, composition, color theory, and typography.

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Skilled in Blender or Cinema 4D for 3D design work.

• Awareness of how thumbnails impact click-through rates and viewer engagement.

• Capability to distill abstract or complex topics into clear, emotionally resonant visuals.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Proficient in business-level English, with a basic understanding of German preferred.
