Working Student – Finance & Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Maintain and refresh ongoing cash flow forecasts.

• Compare actual results with forecasts and identify variances early on.

• Log and categorize invoices and receipts, preparing them for handover to the tax accounting firm.

• Oversee outstanding receivables, verify incoming payments, and implement a structured dunning process.

• Generate monthly retainer and project invoices for clients in the DACH region and the United States.

• Reconcile bank accounts, Stripe, and credit card transactions.

• Prepare cost and contribution margin analyses for each team.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Create ad hoc analyses for management review.

• Document financial processes and suggest methods to automate manual tasks.

• Collaborate directly with management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, Economics, Business Information Systems, or a related field, preferably with a focus on Finance, Controlling, or Accounting.

• At least in the third semester of study.

• Proficient in Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and a foundational understanding of clean data structures.

• Strong attention to detail and dependability when managing figures and confidential information.

• Fluent in German.

• Good command of written and spoken English.

• Availability of a minimum of 15 hours per week.

• Willingness to engage in a long-term collaboration for at least 12 months.

• Previous practical experience in accounting, tax consulting, or controlling is a plus.

• Familiarity with DATEV, Lexware/Lexoffice, or similar tools is advantageous.

• Interest in e-commerce and digital business models is a benefit.

• Enthusiasm for process automation, such as Sheets formulas, Zapier/Make, or simple scripting, is a plus.
