Workers Compensation Claims Examiner – VA Jurisdiction Experience Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate Virginia workers’ compensation claims for clients to determine entitled benefits.

• Ensure the continuous adjudication of claims aligns with service expectations, industry standards, and client service criteria.

• Analyze and process claims through action plans aimed at achieving timely resolutions.

• Investigate and collect information to assess claim exposure.

• Negotiate settlements for claims within the established authority.

• Communicate updates on claim activities and processing to claimants and clients.

• Report claims to the excess carrier.

• Respond professionally and swiftly to requests for guidance.

• Utilize Sedgwick’s global network of experts and provide valuable insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of claims management experience or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• Familiarity with Virginia jurisdiction is necessary.

• Ability to think clearly and conceptually.

• Excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and discretion.

• Capability to manage work-related stress effectively.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once.

• Ability to meet deadlines consistently.

• Proficient keyboarding skills.
