This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
β’ Conduct thorough investigations and analyses of medical, occupational, and policy-related information to assess eligibility for long-term disability (LTD) and address discrepancies within designated timelines.
β’ Make informed disability determinations and communicate decisions while ensuring accurate benefit issuance.
β’ Oversee claims utilizing suitable liability and disability management approaches.
β’ Keep track of medical updates, vocational factors, policy stipulations, and deductible income to facilitate prompt claim resolutions.
β’ Deliver proactive and professional communication to claimants, policyholders, and internal stakeholders.
β’ Address issues and assist with client-facing activities as necessary.
β’ Approve decisions made by less-experienced team members.
β’ Provide training to enhance team capabilities.
β’ Ensure the integrity of claim data and reserve liabilities.
β’ Actively engage in team and departmental projects and initiatives.
β’ High School Diploma or its equivalent.
β’ At least eighteen months of progressively responsible experience in disability claims administration, or a suitable combination of education and relevant experience.
β’ Over 5 years of progressive experience in LTD claims is highly preferred.
β’ Proficient in timely, customer-oriented management and administration of disability claims.
β’ Capable of analyzing and applying medical, technical, contractual, and legal information effectively.
β’ Familiarity with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that impact claim investigations, disability determinations, and benefit taxation.
β’ Successful completion of a criminal background check as well as verification of employment, education, and licensing.
β’ Must be eligible for bonding.
