Workers Compensation Claims Examiner, NY Jurisdictional and Licensing Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Evaluate Lost-Time Workers Compensation claims on behalf of clients to ascertain benefits owed

• Ensure continuous adjudication of claims in alignment with service expectations, industry best practices, and client service standards

• Assess and manage claims through action plans to achieve timely and appropriate resolutions

• Investigate and collect information to assess claim exposure

• Negotiate claim settlements within the specified authority

• Communicate claim status and processing updates with claimants and clients

• Report claims to the excess carrier

• Respond in a professional and timely manner to requests for guidance

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred

• 3-5 years of claims management experience or a suitable combination of education and experience is required

• Experience with Public Entity Workers Compensation is preferred

• Knowledge of NY jurisdiction is required

• Familiarity with NJ jurisdiction is preferred

• NY licensing is required

• Strong clear and conceptual thinking abilities

• Exceptional judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical skills, and discretion

• Capability to manage work-related stress

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once

• Capacity to meet deadlines

• Proficient in computer keyboarding

• Ability to hear, see, and speak
