Workday Finance Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Act as the main Workday Financials administrator and the primary support contact for the Finance team, efficiently triaging and resolving configuration challenges, user inquiries, and system requests with a high level of responsiveness and quality.

• Identify and address Workday Financials configuration issues across various modules, including Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Procurement, and/or Banking & Settlement.

• Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to collect, document, and convert business requirements into functional design specifications and Workday configuration solutions.

• Assist in delivering enhancements, launching new features, and implementing process improvements in Workday Financials, from requirement gathering through testing and change management.

• Engage in Workday's semi-annual release cycles by reviewing release notes, evaluating functional impacts, coordinating user acceptance testing, and overseeing deployment.

• Keep system documentation accurate and current, including configuration guides, business process flows, and training materials.

• Work alongside the wider Enterprise Systems team on cross-functional projects related to Workday HCM, Adaptive Planning, Integrations, and third-party connected systems.

• Collaborate with Finance leadership to support strategic priorities such as process automation, reporting enhancements, and scalability initiatives linked to company growth.

• Serve as a liaison between Finance and IT, ensuring that system modifications are implemented with proper controls, rigorous testing, and minimal disruption to financial operations.

• Oversee support tickets and project tasks through a structured intake and prioritization process, proactively communicating status and expectations to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5+ years of direct Workday Financials configuration and support experience in a business analyst or functional analyst role.

• Extensive hands-on knowledge of one or more Workday Financial Management modules, with the capability to independently configure business processes, validation rules, condition rules, and security.

• Proven ability to manage day-to-day Finance operations while also contributing to project-based work and strategic initiatives.

• Strong stakeholder management abilities — adept at navigating competing priorities, managing expectations across Finance and IT, and maintaining clear communication at all organizational levels.

• Experience in conducting business requirements gathering, gap analysis, and drafting functional design documents.

• Robust understanding of fundamental finance and accounting principles (GAAP, month-end closing, AP/AR workflows, expense management) and their implications for Workday configuration.

• Highly organized, capable of managing multiple open requests and projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

• A collaborative problem-solver with a proven history of establishing trusted relationships with Finance business partners.
