This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of hiring, mentoring, professional development, and performance management for the Windows team.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, carry out performance evaluations, and develop personalized growth plans.
• Engage in the recruitment process from sourcing candidates to screening and finalizing offers.
• Tackle performance issues proactively and in a timely manner.
• Ensure accountability for team delivery and foster a positive team culture.
• Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives.
• Monitor team morale and resolve any conflicts that arise.
• Keep project timelines on track and manage interdependencies effectively.
• Communicate any blockers, risks, and progress updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and support teams on planning and execution efforts.
• Make product-related decisions as necessary to keep the team progressing.
• Oversee throughput, shipping speed, predictability, and the elimination of delivery obstacles.
• Enhance team effectiveness and direct focus towards business and product objectives.
• Utilize and guide the use of AI-assisted development while ensuring quality and maintainability.
• Assess and enhance tooling and workflows for greater efficiency.
• Encourage the team to tackle more significant challenges and assess the results.
• Exercise technical judgment in collaboration with technical leads.
• Maintain proficiency in C#, .NET desktop applications, and native interop.
• Proven experience in developing and delivering high-quality software for the Windows platform.
• Familiarity with C#/.NET desktop applications.
• Experience in engineering management, including hiring, conducting one-on-ones, performance reviews, and ensuring accountability for team outcomes.
• A strong desire and ability to coach and develop engineers both personally and technically.
• Regular engagement with AI development tools and the ability to critically assess their results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective with both engineers and non-engineers.
• A commitment to accountability and transparency regarding team outcomes.
• Technical knowledge of native interop.
• Capability to make informed resourcing and prioritization decisions based on the team's technical trajectory.
