Windows Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, manage, and provide support for Windows Server environments including versions 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025.

• Oversee Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, organizational units, user accounts, group management, and computer accounts.

• Execute server builds, upgrades, migrations, hardening processes, and decommissioning tasks.

• Handle Windows patch management utilizing WSUS, MECM/SCCM, or similar platforms.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, authentication, networking, performance, and system-level functionalities.

• Manage Microsoft Failover Clustering, roles of Windows Server, and ensure high-availability environments.

• Provide support for VMware and Hyper-V virtualized workloads running on Windows.

• Conduct analysis of system performance and optimize capacity.

• Implement and uphold Windows security baselines and hardening protocols.

• Resolve authentication issues involving Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, certificates, and domain connectivity.

• Administer Windows services, scheduled tasks, event logs, registry configurations, and system settings.

• Assist with backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.

• Automate repetitive administrative tasks through PowerShell scripting.

• Monitor infrastructure using comprehensive enterprise monitoring and logging systems.

• Engage in incident, problem, change, and request management procedures.

• Produce technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and infrastructure reports.

• Participate in 24x7 on-call or shift support as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Windows Engineer with a strong background in enterprise Windows Server infrastructure.

• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities along with PowerShell automation expertise.

• Familiarity with Windows Server versions 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025.

• Experience in managing Active Directory, including AD DS, organizational units, users, groups, FSMO roles, and Sites & Services.

• Proficient in working with DNS zones, records, DHCP scopes, and troubleshooting related issues.

• Skilled in the creation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Group Policy Objects.

• Competence in PowerShell scripting, automation, and administrative tasks.

• Experience with WSUS, SCCM/MECM, or similar patch management systems.

• Knowledge of VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V environments.

• Familiarity with Windows hardening techniques, security baselines, and endpoint security measures.

• Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, basic routing, and firewall principles.

• Experience with Windows monitoring, event logging, and performance counters.

• Knowledge of backup, restoration, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Understanding of incident, problem, change, and service request management processes.

• Ability to participate in 24x7 on-call or shift support as needed.

• Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Azure / Azure Virtual Machines.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID / hybrid identity solutions.

• Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Intune.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.

• Preferred: Experience in SCCM/MECM administration.

• Preferred: Understanding of Windows Failover Clustering.

• Preferred: IIS administration experience.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Certificate Services / PKI.

• Preferred: Experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi.

• Preferred: Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms.

• Preferred: Experience with SCOM, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, or equivalent enterprise monitoring tools.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting large-scale data center environments.
