Windows Desktop Migration Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Implement user migrations in accordance with a standardized factory playbook, diligently tracking progress and outcomes.

• Confirm end-user functionality on newly hosted Azure desktops, encompassing M365 Suite, internal business applications, and online tools.

• Diagnose and resolve issues comprehensively across Windows environments and application settings.

• Conduct application testing, which includes reproducing defects and performing regression checks, both pre- and post-migration.

• Collaborate on technical solutions with partner teams while effectively communicating with users in trading, engineering, and senior management.

• Deliver structured reports on assigned tasks, clearly identifying risks, obstacles, and migration progress.

• Compose clear technical documentation and user communications to manage expectations and facilitate issue resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of comprehensive IT experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on Windows desktop migrations.

• Strong understanding of Windows desktop environments and troubleshooting application behavior.

• Expertise in cloud connectivity (preferably Azure) and access management, including fundamental networking concepts.

• Proficient in coding with Python or Java for automation and diagnostics purposes.

• Exceptional debugging and problem isolation abilities, utilizing logs, configurations, and reproduction steps.

• Solid knowledge of application testing, including test design and a regression-focused mindset.

• Excellent communication skills for conveying technical issues to non-technical audiences.

• Strong personal project management skills to navigate high-volume user queues and ensure precise reporting.

• Advanced proficiency in Oral English.

• Advanced proficiency in Spanish.
