This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Collaborate within small, hands-on teams during the on-site execution of MCU/UTR tasks.
• Carry out MCU operations as directed by the MCU Lead, which includes significant crane activities utilizing GE MCU teams, local GE personnel, third-party contractors, and crane vendors.
• Inspect all major components to verify their integrity and ensure they are the correct type or configuration for the turbine.
• Verify and validate Inventory Tooling, Parts, and any other materials necessary for MCU operations.
• Interpret the specifications outlined in GE manuals, bulletins, and other documents, completing assigned tasks in line with GE work instructions.
• Complete all essential documentation related to MCU / UTR execution.
• Ensure data is gathered to compile reports on completed MCU/UTR work.
• Confirm that all tasks are performed in compliance with the organization's JSA, LOTO, EHS, and related policies/procedures.
• Immediately report errors, violations, incidents, or problems using GE reporting systems.
• Submit inquiries to Engineering to address technical issues and respond to questions from Management, Engineering, Sourcing, and Project Teams as needed.
• Make conforming or non-conforming decisions following inspections and report as necessary to the MCU lead/FPM/CMS.
• Participate in a roster that may include weekend and night shifts as directed by management.
• Conduct high voltage switching operations in accordance with site procedures as required.
• Familiarize yourself with and adhere to all EHS policies and procedures relevant to your role, reporting any injuries, spills, near misses, or related incidents, along with any concerns regarding potential policy violations.
• Assist with GE investigations and EHS audits, and alert fellow employees to unsafe behaviors and conditions by informing their Manager, Supervisor, and EHS Manager/Coordinator.
• Complete all necessary EHS Training.
• Must be a qualified Electrician with an appropriate Australian electrical license and a strong mechanical aptitude, or a qualified Mechanical tradesperson with electrical skills.
• Proficient in troubleshooting faults in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in comprehensive wind farm operations and maintenance, installation, and heavy lift main component exchange.
• Trained to an intermediate level in computer skills.
• Must possess the appropriate eligibility at the time of application to work in Australia (i.e., Permanent Resident of Australia, Australian Citizen, or New Zealand Citizen).
• Willingness and ability to travel nationally or internationally for work and training as part of a 3-week on, 1-week off roster.
