Web Scraping Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and improve code that retrieves data from various online platforms, ensuring both reliability and efficiency.

• Execute data extraction tasks, managing complexities such as pagination and dynamic content loaded via AJAX.

• Cleanse and format the retrieved data, ensuring it adheres to quality standards for subsequent analysis or processing.

• Manage databases: Store and oversee the scraped data in suitable databases, optimizing for quick access and data integrity.

• Continuously monitor scraping processes, identifying and resolving any issues to ensure an uninterrupted data flow.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven ability to extract data from intricate websites with minimal oversight, along with a portfolio or examples of previous projects.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python or JavaScript, with strong expertise in libraries and frameworks like BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Selenium.

• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, multithreading, and distributed scraping techniques.

• Comprehensive understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Document Object Model (DOM).

• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), capable of designing effective storage solutions and maintaining data integrity.

• Ability to implement machine learning algorithms for data cleaning, categorization, or predictive analysis is a significant asset.

• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for deploying and managing scraping tasks at scale.

• Active involvement in open-source projects related to web scraping, data processing, or similar areas.
