
Web Marketing Program Manager – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of the intake, planning, prioritization, and execution of web projects for a consumer marketing website.
• Independently manage projects from inception to launch, including creating project briefs, defining requirements, establishing timelines, coordinating stakeholder communications, and drafting launch plans.
• Lead cross-functional teams that include product marketing, design, engineering, analytics, SEO, legal, brand, and other stakeholders to effectively implement initiatives.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous workstreams while managing competing priorities, dependencies, and changing business demands.
• Collaborate closely with the Consumer Marketing Web Lead to ensure alignment on roadmap priorities, resource allocation, trade-offs, and strategic direction.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and obstacles early and proactively work towards their resolution.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance site performance, user experience, operational efficiency, content effectiveness, SEO, and the overall maturity of the web program.
• Proactively highlight risks, gaps, inefficiencies, and emerging opportunities, providing recommendations and proposed solutions.
• Conduct audits, analyses, and research to inform optimization opportunities and future roadmap investments.
• Initiate process improvements to enhance scalability, execution quality, and stakeholder experience.
• Implement web best practices and strategic thinking for both new initiatives and existing site experiences.
• Establish and refine operational processes, documentation, and governance frameworks to support a growing web program.
• Convert marketing and business objectives into actionable web recommendations and project plans.
• Assess requests based on business impact, user experience, technical feasibility, SEO, analytics, brand standards, and long-term site health.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and prioritization discussions by pinpointing high-impact opportunities and suggesting trade-offs when necessary.
• Ensure web initiatives align with broader marketing goals and customer journey objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define success metrics and measurement strategies for key initiatives.
• Act as the primary contact for assigned initiatives, ensuring stakeholder alignment and maintaining project momentum throughout the lifecycle.
• Gather feedback, facilitate decision-making, and clearly communicate recommendations, risks, dependencies, and progress.
• Escalate strategic decisions, shifts in the roadmap, and significant risks to the Consumer Marketing Web Lead as appropriate.
• Lead regular project communications, stakeholder reviews, and status updates.
• Build strong relationships across stakeholder groups while effectively navigating competing priorities and perspectives.
• Utilize data and performance insights to inform recommendations, prioritization decisions, and optimization opportunities.
• Monitor key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and areas for enhancement.
• Partner with analytics stakeholders to create reporting, measurement frameworks, and performance reviews.
• Communicate performance outcomes, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
• Transform performance data into actionable next steps and roadmap opportunities.
• 5–8 years of experience in web marketing, digital marketing, web strategy, web program management, consulting, agency, or similar roles.
• Experience in consulting, agency, or other fast-paced, highly matrixed environments is preferred.
• Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional web initiatives from planning through to launch.
• Experience in developing project briefs, timelines, requirements, stakeholder communication plans, and implementation strategies.
• Strong understanding of how web supports the entire marketing funnel, encompassing acquisition, engagement, conversion, and retention.
• Demonstrated expertise in: landing page strategy, SEO fundamentals and optimization, content strategy and information architecture, user journeys and conversion best practices, website governance and operational processes, and web analytics and performance measurement.
• Proven ability to use data and insights to inform recommendations, prioritization decisions, and optimization opportunities.
• Strong project and program management skills, including prioritization, dependency management, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation.
• Experience collaborating across functions with marketing, product marketing, design, engineering, analytics, legal, and brand teams.
• Ability to independently navigate ambiguity, make informed recommendations, and drive initiatives to completion.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Preferred: Familiarity with SEO basics and their integration into web content workflows, experience in consumer hardware, e-commerce, or devices web marketing, background in project management tools, content strategy experience (educational guides, product exploration, editorial calendars), and agency coordination experience.
