Web Content Remediation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute hands-on remediation of web content to rectify accessibility issues identified through both manual and automated evaluations.

• Revise and enhance the HTML structure, which includes headings, landmarks, lists, tables, and semantic markup.

• Apply and verify alternative text, labels, and instructions for non-text elements.

• Improve keyboard navigation, focus sequencing, and interactive components (links, buttons, forms).

• Resolve color contrast, text resizing, and visual presentation challenges.

• Implement accessibility modifications within content management systems (CMS) and web platforms.

• Collaborate with accessibility testers to facilitate post-remediation validation.

• Document remediation processes and assist with status reporting as necessary.

• Adhere to established accessibility standards, agency policies, and remediation priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in supporting web accessibility remediation efforts.

• Proven experience in remediating web content to comply with WCAG 2.1 or WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards.

• In-depth understanding of ADA and Section 508 regulations.

• Practical experience with HTML and CSS.

• Knowledge of accessibility semantics (headings, labels, ARIA usage as necessary).

• Experience addressing accessibility challenges within CMS environments.

• Awareness of common web accessibility issues, including: Missing or inaccurate alternative text, Improper heading structures, Keyboard accessibility problems, Color contrast issues, Form labeling and error identification.

• Ability to work collaboratively with testers and implement remediation based on documented findings.
