Waterproofing Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Utilize a bulk caulk gun to install caulk into joints, extracting product from buckets, utilizing “sausage” tubes, or standard tubes.

• Conduct inspections of joints to ensure they are intact, that all joint filler materials have been eliminated, and that the size is within acceptable limits.

• For joints that require it, pack with backer rod to maintain appropriate joint depth, eliminate three-side adhesion, and provide a solid backing for tooling.

• Ability to operate and work on a forklift, boom lift, and/or scissor lift is essential.

• If needed, apply joint primer with a spatula-type knife of suitable size, smoothing sealant to align with masonry mortar joints.

• When working with self-leveling products, use compatible materials to create dams at ends, penetrations, and holes to keep the material within the joint.

• Mix materials as needed using a drill and mixing paddle, following the manufacturer's guidelines.

• Accessing joints may necessitate the use of boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stages, scaffolding, ladders, boswain’s chairs (sky genie), or bucket trucks to reach elevated areas inside and outside of buildings under construction.

• Clean tools with toluene or xylene-type substances, ensuring specific care and precautions are observed when handling these solvent materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.

• One to three months of related experience and/or training is preferred.

• Experience in reading plans and knowledge of below-grade waterproofing or caulking is advantageous.

• Reliable transportation is a must.
