Freelance Color Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Develop color keys to establish lighting, atmosphere, palette, and mood informed by thumbnails and reference materials.

• Convert approved color keys into fully realized final artwork utilizing clean line art files.

• Ensure strict compliance with the project's defined art style and visual standards.

• Constructively incorporate feedback from Art Directors to uphold high-quality production benchmarks.

• Prepare tidy, organized, and appropriately structured digital files for the final production workflow.

• Create initial thumbnails and composition suggestions to support the art direction team as needed.

• Strong professional expertise in color theory, environmental lighting, and digital rendering methods.

• Comfortable working with a variety of rendering styles, from intricate painterly effects to clean cell-shading.

• Demonstrated ability to express emotion, atmosphere, and narrative intent through lighting and color selections.

• In-depth knowledge of color composition and visual hierarchy to ensure clarity in detailed illustrations.

• Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop.

• Capability to adapt seamlessly to an established studio pipeline and implementation process.

• Professional proficiency in both written and spoken English.
