Water Hygiene Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance (PPM), including sampling, flushing, disinfecting, and chemical treatment of water systems.

• Executing remedial tasks, tank cleaning, and chlorination procedures.

• Ensuring adherence to ACOP L8, HSG274, and other water hygiene legislation.

• Accurately documenting and reporting site activities using company systems.

• Identifying and reporting system issues proactively to prevent escalation.

• Representing SMS Environmental in a professional manner with clients on-site.

• Assisting and mentoring junior engineers as part of a collaborative team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in water hygiene, treatment, or Legionella control.

• Knowledge of water hygiene legislation and best practices.

• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with clients and team members.

• Capable of working independently while managing time efficiently.

• Possesses a City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Water Hygiene.

• Holds a full UK driving licence.

• Capable of passing a Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (Enhanced DBS check).
