This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• The Remote Warehouse Associate is tasked with the purchasing, receiving, inventory management, storage, and related record-keeping of food service and housekeeping products and supplies, in addition to performing general cleaning and floor maintenance tasks.
• Ensures that storerooms, shelves, loading docks, and walk-in coolers are maintained by appropriately organizing and rotating products.
• Responsible for loading and unloading materials from pallets, trays, racks, vehicles, or shelves.
• Supplies a variety of products to other staff as required.
• Maintains precise inventories/records of materials available on hand.
• Collaborates with colleagues to ensure that all products and supplies are readily available as needed.
• Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to determine materials that need to be moved.
• Regularly updates pricing and databases.
• Inspects deliveries to ensure they meet standards and the quantity/quality ordered.
• Counts, weighs, and records the number of units of materials handled or moved.
• Delivers, unloads, loads, stocks, cleans, rotates, or retrieves materials or products from various locations.
• Routinely maintains, cleans, sweeps, mops, etc., coolers, floors, storerooms, loading docks, shelves, etc.
• Manages special food service-related projects.
• Prepares and cleans products for storage.
• Aids in maintaining the cleanliness of other associated areas.
• Cleans work areas, machines, and equipment, ensuring that assigned areas are neat, safe, and orderly.
• Stacks, assembles, or bands materials together.
• Utilizes various types of hand trucks to facilitate the movement of materials or products.
• Operates industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Supports food service personnel with their daily activities.
• Alerts the supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being upheld.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience demonstrating knowledge of purchasing, material handling, inventory control, stocking, and shipping and receiving of perishable goods.
• At least one (1) year of experience using commercial cleaning equipment in a commercial or industrial environment.
• Intermediate computer skills related to inventory control, product ordering, purchasing, and managing warehouse operations are essential.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level is required.
• A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for the past three (3) years are necessary to qualify under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.
• Must successfully complete all pre-employment contract requirements, which may include but are not limited to: background checks and UA drug tests.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team with colleagues, customers, and clients is required.
• Must be capable of making decisions independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.
• Must be able to reside in dormitory-style accommodations and meet cleanliness standards of the remote camp.
• The contract mandates employees to speak, understand, read, and write in English.
• Must adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations established by the company and client.
• Must be able to obtain a food worker card.
