VP Underwriter, Financial Institutions Professional Lines – US

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the assessment, evaluation, and pricing of high-complexity risks, which include banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and private equity firms.

• Actively promote the firm's Financial Institutions capabilities to leading brokerage firms and utilize established relationships to attract high-quality new business proposals.

• Serve as a "referral point" for intricate technical inquiries, offering expert insights on policy language, terms, and conditions to guarantee profitability.

• Collaborate closely with executive leadership to enhance the Financial Institutions underwriting framework, risk appetite, and long-term growth strategies.

• Represent the organization at industry events and client-facing due diligence meetings to elevate the brand's visibility in the specialty insurance sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of technical underwriting experience specifically in the Financial Institutions sector (D&O, E&O, Fiduciary, etc.).

• Proven success in developing and maintaining a profitable portfolio through proactive broker engagement and negotiation.

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred; relevant professional certifications are considered an advantage.

• Expert-level capability to analyze complex financial statements and evaluate credit risk profiles.

• Excellent negotiation skills with the capability to devise innovative solutions for atypical risks.

• Exhibits a self-driven "hunter" mindset with the ability to work independently.

• Proficient with technology, highly organized, skilled with data, and comfortable using MS Office, cloud-based applications, and digital filing systems.

• Asks insightful questions and challenges established norms to foster innovation.

• Possesses a growth-oriented mindset, engaging in independent research to expand knowledge and tackle complex issues.
