This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish a strategy to oversee the operational framework that supports the AD business unit.
• Ensure controls, compliance, and audit readiness; take ownership of policy and procedure governance for AD operations.
• Evaluate and analyze the maturity of the current reinsurance ecosystem to suggest enhancements regarding personnel, processes, systems, and data.
• Propel process automation, enhance data quality, and improve systems to boost efficiency and internal reporting capabilities.
• Manage DUA programs and relationships, supervising program agreements and ensuring that commitments are met.
• Oversee responsibilities related to AD claims management.
• Collaborate with finance and actuarial teams to guarantee accurate and timely external reporting of results.
• Create and maintain effective internal reporting systems for the AD business unit.
• Ensure data integrity and oversee the functionality of the reinsurance contract management system and any other systems developed to support the business.
• Take charge of budget and expense planning for AD.
• Develop and implement the annual AD audit plans in underwriting and claims with reinsurance clients and program managers.
• Work in partnership with management and executive leadership on strategies, policies, and procedures to support AD while promoting compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Regularly engage with Legal, Actuarial, Internal Audit, Claims, Technology, and other stakeholders as necessary.
• Collaborate with marketing to enhance brand visibility, organize industry events, and position the business for growth and success.
• Build and lead a high-performing team to ensure the necessary skill sets are in place to effectively execute the business plan and adhere to internal and external controls and requirements.
• Coordinate and complete special requests, projects, and reports as directed by executive management.
• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, actuarial science, insurance, or a related field is required; an advanced degree or professional designation (CPCU, ACAS, FCAS, CPA) is preferred.
• Over 15 years of progressive experience in property & casualty reinsurance operations, treaty administration, or reinsurance accounting.
• At least 8 years in a senior leadership role is preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of P&C treaty types (both proportional and non-proportional), facultative placements, retrocession, and reinsurance contract language.
• Proven experience with ceded recoveries, reinsurance accounting, reserve credits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive process improvements and automation, and effectively collaborate across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and external brokers.
• Experience in designing, developing, automating, and assessing controls in IT systems, processes, and new implementations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and investigative skills.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Familiarity with specialized tools, including Alteryx, Workiva, MS Office & Project, MS PowerShell, and MS SQL Server.
• Knowledge and understanding of various IT disciplines such as software development, infrastructure, operations, and information security.
