This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take ownership of and develop Nectar's sales function from the ground up, encompassing strategy, processes, tools, and team structure.
• Actively source, negotiate, and finalize deals with mid-market and enterprise brands during Nectar's initial phase, while establishing systems for scaling beyond founder-led sales.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO and other leaders to establish the ideal customer profile, pricing structures, packaging, and go-to-market strategy.
• Create and execute repeatable sales processes, including pipeline management, forecasting, deal evaluations, and maintaining CRM hygiene.
• Recruit, onboard, and nurture Nectar's sales personnel as the team grows following the Series A funding.
• Develop and oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring precise forecasting and reporting to the executive team and board.
• Work collaboratively across departments such as Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to synchronize messaging, feedback loops, and customer growth.
• Act as Nectar's representative with senior marketing and brand stakeholders, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to potential clients.
• Establish the foundational culture and standards of the sales organization; the playbook created by this individual will serve as the basis for the team's operations.
• Over 7 years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, demonstrating a history of meeting quotas, with a minimum of 2 years in a sales leadership role (VP, Director, or Head of Sales).
• Background in selling to marketing, brand, or e-commerce organizations; familiarity with martech, social media, or CRM tools is a significant advantage.
• Direct experience as an early or founding sales team member at a Series A or Series B startup, with an understanding of the challenges in establishing a function without a pre-existing playbook.
• Proven capability to both sell independently and lead/manage a team.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic, resource-limited environment.
• Strong grasp of sales fundamentals: discipline in pipeline management, accuracy in forecasting, and maintaining CRM/data hygiene (e.g., Salesforce).
• Exceptional communication skills and executive presence; ability to influence founders, board members, and enterprise clients effectively.
• Located in, or willing to relocate to, the San Francisco Bay Area.
